SMTPSVC error source

After power outage I get the following errors with SMTPSVC as the source in
the event viewer:
1: Virtual server 1 was unable to register itself and the local delivery
sink with the event binding database. Server events and local delivery will
not function properly for this virtual server.
2: Server events initialization failed for virtual server 1. Server events
may not be called for this virtual server.
Can this be fixed without reinstalling XP?

Ray,

Try re-installing IIS. That's where the service is needed

And why are you using Virtual PC/Server? Do you have a valid free licence
for the OS installed there?
