SMTP, error 553

Andy

Hello to everyone,

I have a little problem. I want to use Windows Mail to access my Yahoo
account. All works fine with receiving e-mails, but when I want to send
something, i receive this:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server.
.......................................................................(something
unuseful about troubleshooting)

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)' . Subject 'test',
Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com, Protocol: SMTP,
Server response: '553 From: address not verified; see
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/alternate_email/index.html',
(something uncomplete about ports and secureSSLs)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the SMTP settings i've got from Yahoo:
- port: 465
- SSL active
- server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
And if this matters: (but I don't think so)
- server timeouts: 1 minute
- break apart messages: no

What can I do?

Hi Andy. I had same problem. I use Windows Mail for multiple accounts. Verify
if "outgoing server require authentification" button is checked.
