"smooth edges of screen fonts" keeps coming on by itself

I like to have this option turned off, I can't stand fuzzy text. The problem
is that it keeps turning itself on. I have to go back in and turn it off. I
haven't figured out when this happens, what causes it, or what is common
between the times it occurs. It just did it twice in a row to me within
minutes. Do you have an ideas?

Not sure if this will help but you can try these registry settings and see
if it helps

Start/run/regedit hit enter, go to

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
Font smoothing, change value to 2,

then you can check this also: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
FontSmoothingType
(0 = disabled, 1 = standard, 2 = ClearType)

As Karl said, Font Smoothing is directly related to the "Clear Type" setting
used on LCD monitors.
