SmartGart AGP Settings

I have an AIW 9800 Pro in a PC running WinXP Pro SP1 with an ASUS P4C800E
Deluxe motherboard. The MoBo has the latest BIOS. WinXP has all the
latest updates (except SP2). I just installed the Catalyst v4.8 XP
drivers for the AIW card.

In SmartGart I noticed that for "AGP Settings" it says Off and for "Fast
Write" is also says Off (the On button is greyed-out). I tried changing
the AGP setting to 8x but after re-boot it was set back to Off. Why is
this given that the AIW 9800 Pro does support AGP 8x?

I went into my MoBo BIOS and I did not see any options for AGP speed.

you'll need to enable AGP either thru the mobo bios
or mobo drivers or a mobo utility program installed as part of the mobo
setup. if you dont get a more specific
answer and need help try posting on alt.comp.periphs.mainboards.asus

I had a similar problem, a while back, sorted with re-install of the asus
P4P8X mobo drivers which were on the mobo disk.
