....my HDD is SMART disabled,...how to enable it( I looked in BIOS but can't
find anything)...the MB is gigabyte GA-8PE667 pro...HDD..MAXTOR 120GB
 
It is under your bios setting if not under advance setting then it should be
under standard bios setting. If you don't see it there then, maybe your bios
is not supporting. Chances are you may have overlooked.

I verified it, it is under bios setting, under power management.
