Smart Tags

Not sure this is the group for Smart Tags; however, I've tried to follow the
directions to insert smart tags. Tools, auto correct, smart tags checked.

The little rectangle with a dot doesn't come up when I run my cursor across
the
text which I am trying to mark.

Is there something I'm not doing right?

Check Tools - Options - View, and make sure that Smart tags is checked
there, as well. Smart tags are infuriating at times, because the settings to
enable them are stored in different places, making it difficult to know
exactly how to turn them on and off. You might also want to take a look at
Tools - Options - Save, Embed smart tags.
