Smart Tags in Word 2002 documents

Hi all. I am using XP Pro with SP-2, and Office 2002 with SP-3. Whenever I
type the letter m into a Word document, it gets labeled as a Smart Tag. I
have tried every option at the Smart Tags tab in Tools> AutoCorrect Options
but can't get rid of the annoying Smart Tag !!!! I have done the usual scans
for viruses and spyware. I have tried disabling Smart tags then re-enabling
them, but this Smart tag for the letter m keeps coming back to haunt me !!
Where is the list of these Smart tags found ????
Best regards,
Andy

Smart Tags are enabled through Registry entries. But you should see all of them
in the list in Tools/Autocorrect options/Smart Tags. If you turn off "Label test
with Smart Tags" the "m" isn't still being indicated when you type new text, is
it?

Thanks for the reply Cindy M - sorry it took a while to get back to you - my
internet was down for a few days. I cannot see any smart tags list where you
said. if I turn off "Label text with Smart Tags" the "m" isn't still being
indicated, so for now I am just leaving it like that,
Bets regards,

Andy

OK, at least we've gotten rid of the annoyance. You mean to say that, under
the "Label..." checkbox there is not one single entry in the list box?

Hi Cindy M. On the Smart tags dialog box in AutoCorrect Options, I have, in
the main window, only these things listed:

Person names (English)
Dates (English) (Ticked)
Times (English) (Ticked)
Addresses (English) (Ticked)
Places (English) (Ticked)
Telehone numbers (English)
Recent Outlook e-mail recipients (Ticked)
Smart tag lists (MSN MoneyCentral Finacial Symbols)

Best regards,
Andy

Hi =?Utf-8?B?eWFhYmFh?=,

OK. In order to track down where this is coming from, I'd
reactivatge the checkbox at the top ("Label...") and then remove
the tick from all the entries in the list. Test in your document
whether "m" is still getting marked.

If it's not, go back in and activate one entry. Test. Test one
entry at a time (only one is ticked) until you track down the one
causing the problem. My bet would be on one of the last two in
your list, below.
