small red x in upper left corner of mail

Many of the e-mails I receive on this computer have an outline around an area
that I assume is html content, and there is a tiny box in upper left corner
with a red x in it. Some e-mails give the option of viewing the page as a
web page, some don't.
What setting do I have wrong??

location: \HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\BlockHTTPImages
change the value 1 to 0 (zero) and it works"

Thank you very much. It works like you said. I really appreciate you
finding a question this old and answering it in a way even a novice can
figure out. It will be a pleasure to read e-mail again. Need references,
I'll help.
