small office network setup

Here's the setup:
Desktops: 1 XP, 1 98
Laptops: 1 XP, 1 98

We need:
A shared internet connection and printer from the XP
desktop. What services do I need to install in order to
get all these PCs to see the XP desktop? NetBUI?

Security is not an issue at this time.

The clients connect to each other via a hub that also
provides the internet service.

TCP/IP alone should do it - you're doing DHCP from the gatway device, right?
Can you ping each machine by name from the other? Disabled the WinXP
desktops? Made sure they're all in the same workgroup?
