Just built a PC for a friend of the family who is starting a business...

it is the following spec:

Gigabyte GA-K8NE Socket 754
Sempron 3400+ 2.0GHz
1024Mb Kingston Memory
80Gb Maxtor SATA 2 Hdd
ATI Radeon X550 256Mb PCI-e
Wireless 5 button optical mouse ps2/usb

Everything is working flawlessly... except when you open something, for example control panel and the HDD is accessed, the mouse sort of sticks for a fraction of a second, so appears to be really not smooth when your moving the mouse when opening something...

Have tried different mouse drivers, and changing between PS2 and USB

Nothing working.

Any ideas?

Mucho Appreciato

Always best to try on another pc.
I ditched my wireless mouse as it's response at times was poor.
Back to a usb mouse that works fine!:thumb:

As soon as I saw the spec and hadn't read the problem I thought 'It's the mouse, it's one of those e-buyer cheapo jobbies'

I wuz right :D

For another 70p you could've got the Logi from e-buyer :p

It's the mouse - it's rubbish!

Get a decent one ;)

Well actually she chose it :) I originally specced a cable USB one...

I have one thats pretty much the same - just an older model made by "Chic"

paid about 6 quid for it two or three years ago - and it was, and still is, absolutely superb.

problem is there on my PC too.

You reckon the mouse has to go back??

its only a very slight hesitation when you open a program, but its enough to make you think something isnt as it should be.

Might give her the brand new Microsoft Black Optical Wheel Mouse - fantastic mouse... and they arent that cheap either are they?

Dunno, I've never been able to get on with MS mice for some reason, yet one of my daughters preferred a Microsoft Mouse. It's all down to personal preference.

I've always favoured Logitech myself, currently using a G7 and an MX1000 on a KVM switch for two machines.

All other makes I've tried I haven't been impressed by though I suspect some bargains must appear occasionally, law of averages says so ;)

I remember you talking about the Chic mouse, good to hear it's still going strong. That's the sort of bargain you should snap up around 6 of at the time, cos you know you'll probably sell them if you're a system builder.

Haha !!!

Not QUITE ID 10 T as she said "can i have that one" and i said yeah ok, thinking it would be like the same as my chic...

This MS mouse is impressively smooth!! Its got very nice accuracy and feels good in the hand. The only annoying thing is it lacks the back and forward buttons on the side.

Aria are selling a "Micrsoft Black Keyboard" for £15.75. What they DONT tell you in the blurb is that underneath the keyboard is a free black optical mouse that retails for more than a tenner alone.

That should go in the bargain section... TOP keyboard as well!
