My HP-Compaq came with Windows XP installed. It is very slow starting and releasing applications. Are there features in XP that can be turned off (DISABLED) to speedup performance? Can anyone direct me to printed documentation on this issue?

If your new computer came with an integrated, onboard video and/or sound chip,
upgrading to a dedicated AGP video card and PCI sound card will make a big
difference in performance.
