Hey All

I have been having some issues with the computer lately
and I am hoping that one of you can help.

It would seem that I am out of memory and ram but that is
not the case. My computer will all of a sudden go into,
what I call, perpetual thought. All the fans come on like
it is thinking real hard.

It is quite bad whenever I open Word. If I am doing
anything it is like being locked out for several minutes
at a time.

I am pretty computer dumb and I have tried defraging and
I empty my temp internet files at least once a week.

Whatelse should I try?

Hi

Could be any number of things, but you'd need to first say
how old yr PC is, what spec, etc and how long it's been
doing this deep thought thing? What OS do you run? Did
it start doing it suddenly, after you'd installed
something, perhaps? If you've got XP, have you enough RAM
to run it (512 MB)? Have you tried System Restore? Have
you been into the BIOS to check system temperatures?
Maybe yr PC is running hot & this is causing the
slowdown. 'All the fans come on' sounds more like a hard
drive problem, though, to be honest. Any systen fans
should stay fairly constant. Big changes in noise made by
yr PC are likely to be hdd-related. What size, age & make
is it (go into Control Panel & look at System if you're
not sure).

Hope this helps.
