Slow updates when designing

When designing a report, Access is extremely slow when I
add or copy a calculated text box, such as summing a
field. It looks like Access is running the queries for
the report every time I add a new field (about 45 seconds
per field). Fyi, this db is on my local hard drive, not
network, and the report is based on 3 queries total.

I've looked in help files, but can't find it. Is there a
way to turn this feature off (similar to manual recalc in
Excel)?

Thanks in advance,
Tony

Tony, this can happen if the report is based on a crosstab query, so that
the column names being supplied to the report are dynamic.

If that is not the issue, visit:
