Slow Terminal Services Client

we are using 512 kbps line connecting to a onsite server located in U.S. from
India and still the connectivity is very slow using Terminal Services Client.
Can anyone suggest how to increase the Terminal Services speed?

I think your problem is that your using a connection that is inherently
latent.

You can dumb down the RDP connection to see if it helps. Try setting the
colors to 256, forget about mapping disk drives, printers, or serial ports,
leave sound at remote computer, and set your experience to 28.8kbps.

You have the bandwidth (512), but what good is it if it has to take 20 hops
from source to final destination.
