Slow Startup

Hi All!

I have deployed my image to a compact flash card and boot on my final
machine which is a 667mhz C3 cpu with 256mb ram. The startup takes about 60
to 90 secs including autologon.
I have another standard XP-pro machine that starts much faster within about
25 secs.
Does anybody know how the make the XPE startup faster?

Search for bootvis tool from MS that will let you find out what
drivers/services are stalling you boot process.

Also if you have network support check that you are not using DHPC server is
you don't have one attached to your network.

Phillip,

Try bootvis. It's still available for download from certain places (google
it).

Also, make sure if using DHCP there is a DHCP server available, and if you
don't absolutely need Winlogon/Explorer drop it. You'll see the best
performance results from Minlogon, and a carefully considered custom shell.
