Slow Start / Restart

Hi,

XP Pro, 2.1G Processor, 768M Ram.

Recently my machine takes forever to start (Boot Up) and even longer to
restart, it has gone from around one minute to six minutes plus.
I've run SpyBot,Webroot Spysweeper and Webroot Window Washer, Disc check and
repair (the one you schedule for the next restart), Defragmented, cleared
out the Windows Temp folder, re-installed Windows, and deleted all the crap
that I can find but to no avail. The machine has worked fine for nearly two
years without problems. I haven't installed anything of note recently,

Any idea what could of happened anyone?

Did you do a format - windows reinstall or just reinstall?Use msconfig to
isolate the problem.

Hi,
I didn't format, just reinstalled, I don't know what to look for on
MSConfig I'm afraid! I forgot to mention I also did a virus scan (Norton
2003) and I have Norton Firewall 2003 installed. Disabling the firewall
makes no difference,
Thanks for the reply, any idea where I can find out how to use MSConfig?
