Slow Server Performance on Citrix

Ok, this isnt a Citrix board, but the problem appears to
be with win'2000.

Anyways, I have a HP DL380, Dual xeon 3.06, 2 gig of Ram,
4 36 gig drives runing Windows 2000 server, service pack
3,and Citrix.

The problem, is that when a new user logs in, the machine
slows down when opening "my computer", "network places"
and etc. Takes about 30 seconds to open. I saw the problem
the first time we ran a test of the server. Usually, the
first 2 or 3 times you open it, its fine, then it just
hangs.

I went to the server itself, and tried logging people in,
and the same problem happened, so it is definitely nothing
to do with the citrix connection.

Here is the weird part, after someone logs in, the problem
goes away after a few minutes of clicking on things, and
doesnt seem to reappear (of course, this is only a day of
testing). Problem is, that everytime a new user logs in,
everyone gets affected. So, I can have 20 people running
great, someone new logs in, and all 20 go to pure crap.

Anyone have any ideas? I set the paging to 4095, but that
had no affect.

We have a similiar problem on our current citrix
environment, but its much worse, even typing is slow, so
were rebuilding it, its weird to have the same problem
start to arise again.

Is a DNS server present on the network? Or are you providing name resolution
through netbios broadcasting only?
