I had the same problem that lots of people have posted about in
frustration with Outlook running slow. I'm using Office 2000.
I read every post, and finally saw one posted by Brian Tillman on Feb
4 in which he suggested renaming or deleting the file outcmd.dat which
was also recommended by at least one other person. So I searched for
the file and found it and it was 1.9 MB in size!
I renamed it, reopened Outlook and the problem was gone. Running very
fast now. Interestingly, the outcmd.dat file that was created when
outlook reopened is only 3.7 kb, but I notice that as Outlook is
closed and reopened, the file size grows.
Anyway, this worked for me and wanted to pass it on. Thanks, Brian
and others who recommended that fix.
