slow response

Hi - I just installed a fresh copy of XP Home and
installed all of the Microsoft updates. When I visit a
site that uses buttons, php, javascript, etc., my browser
will hang for about 20 seconds before there is a
response. Normal web sites load up just as quickly as
before. Anyone know what this could be?
