Slow response when using Word as email editor

R

Ross LaBarbera

I use MS Word as my email editor, and when I upgraded to 2003 form 2002, I am
now getting an annoying delay when I create a new message or even Reply to a
received email.

Once I hit "Reply", it can take 5-7 seconds for the new email window to open
up. If I turn off MS Word as the email editor, then the reply email comes up
very quickly. I've tried keeping Word open all the time, but that doesn't
seem to help.

I like using Word as my editor, but the delays are getting too frustrating
to deal with... Does anyone know if this is a configuration issue or
something that is just wrong with Outlook 2003??

Thanks in advance,
Ross

I had forgotten that I posted this issue, buit I discussed it further with a
colleague of mine and he advised that when the mailbox size exceeded a
certain level (10gB I think), including any archive associated with it, then
problems like this occur. I did some pruniing of my mailboxes and achived
some of the data away fron the .pst outlook folder an dthis seemed to cure
the problem
