Upgraded my XP notebook to Vista business last week. I've noticed that
Explorer has slowed down considerably. For example; loading My Computer can
take 15-20 seconds or opening the dialog to save an attachment from Outlook
even longer.

I'm running a dual core processor with 2gb of RAM so i don't believe it's
hardware issue.

does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah that link was no help at all. The problem is not with IE7, it is with
Vista. I use the Home Premium edition, and I use Firefox, and it is
incredibly slow. Also, any program that uses the internet is slow, ex:
limewire, Go live, and Internet games. This problem needs to be addressed
soon.

Hey, I had the same problem and tried everything, but eventually I changed
which socket I plug into my router with (I have a router (internet splitter)
with 4 ports in the back) and then unplugged the high speed internet box, as
well as the router, plugged them back in, and everything is now working
perfectly.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

I'm incredulous!
that worked.
you're a genius.
WT* MS? Why did this work when your tech support couldn't figure it out and
the hotfixes and nothing else did.
