SearchIndexer.exe

I use Windows Vista for Business and this system application takes a lot of
dual CPU time (50-60%) after my computer boots. Or about 15-20 minutes after
my desktop appears and all services and processes are loaded. This really
slows things down until SearchIndexer is done doing its thing. I have an AMD
dual core 4400 CPU & 2GB of RAM, and it keeps both cores busy and
consequently, my system is as slow as molasses in January..!

Help! Any Advice?

Thanks in advance!

That definitely helped. Thanks Shawn!

Hi James,

You can disable the Search Index, and Vista will default to the
non-indexed Search. This will search through everything, but you will
not have it hogging up your resources.

Here are some other tips that will help speed up Vista. You can just
pick and use the ones you want to.

Hope this helps,
