Slow printing

I'm running WinXP Home. I recently installed an HP
Photosmart 7760w printer. It is USB connected.

When I initiate a print job it takes quite long before
the printer starts printing. Sometimes as long as two
minutes.

The printer also, pauses during the actual prining
process and sits idle for a short period of time before
in continues and completes the print job.

Any suggestions to eliminate this annoying problem?

Do you have the latest printer drivers installed? Check
with HP website for this.

PROBLEM. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM EITHER.
