Whenever I click on a link the page loads and at the bottom of the window it shows "Done", but it take approxiamtely 30 seconds before I can click on another link. It appears the page is still loading. It "freezes" the screen until it finishes. It just started doing this.

Brian I'm having the same exact problem. THe web page will come up the page tells me it is "done", however like you it takes another 30 second before the browser allows to me to become interactive with the page. I can scroll or click on an item on the page or whatever tool I have open in the split side bar (i.e favorites etc...)

I am seeing this as well. The progress bar shows 100%
but the screen is locked for about 30 seconds. Looking

Brian and Gary, It appears to be something
with "scumware". However, there is a quick fix I found
in several threads down. Go to Tools>options>advanced and
uncheck "enable third party browser extensions". Not
sure what is going on with everyone all of a sudden
getting this problem.

You ain't the only one . I just started having the same issue as well,
happens on ANY web site that I go to, or for that matter any page within a
web site.
I use IE6 and Win XP pro.
I've cleared out the IE cache, cookies and history , also rebooted , still
no change.
I also did a windows up date, not was really needed but installed anything
to do with IE and rebooted once again, Still no change.
I'm not sure what the hell is happening , but think there's more to this
then we may realize.
If any one finds a fix please post it.

I am having the same problem since last night. The web page comes up and the status bar says "Done" but the progress bar next to it is stuck at the very end. It takes abt 30 sec. before I can click on any link or interact with the page. I have tried reinstalling IE6 SP1, but had no success. i would really appreciate it if someone could help us out.

won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just

I had the same problem that Gary and Brian had with slow startup when a page is loaded. Like many of the others who've had this problem, I had cleared the cached, deleted temp files, ran spy killers, removed publishers, removed updates but to no avail. After making the changes by unchecking the third party extensions (other), it worked. Thanks!

I've had the same problem as all of you and it happened at
the same time. I think it may be a virus programmed to
activate on Feb 28 and screw around with IE 6. When i
unchecked "Enable 3rd party browser extensions", it got rid
of my google toolbar. I dont think it was the toolbar that
caused this but i've run numerous virus scans, reinstaled
IE 6, installed all the patches, and did 3 system restores
to no avail. If anyone can find the root of this problem,
please post it so it vcan be eradicated!

Thanks. The solution worked for me, too. Of course by "disabling the third-party browser", this has disabled my Google "pop-up blocker." Should we assume that this is a Google problem or were other users reporting problems that didn't involve Google?
