slow opening of new window in internet explorer 6.

I've got a real strange behavior occuring with IE6. What is happening is
when I first open IE in a new window it takes up to 2 minutes to load the
window. As long as I access any site within this window, it then operates
normal. If this window pops up a new window then it takes another 2 minutes
for this window to load.

I'm 100% sure that IE has not been hijacked as I've checked it with Spy
sweeper. It's a brand new installation and I know I don't have a virus.
I've cleaned all the caches and everything that I can think of. It's not my
DSL because if I load foxfire it loads in 4-6 seconds on the same site. It's
not the JAVA problem, as I've unistalled it.

I'm at a loss, any help would be appreicated.

If you disable all Add-ons, does the problem persist?

Thank you for this response, I have uninstalled the google toolbar and the
problem has gone away. This is really strange, because I never had this
problem before when I used it.

YW. Try installing the most recent version of Google Toolbar (only: Don't
install anything else Google offers).
