Internet Explorer 6 (SP2) Slow Load

Just recently I have noticed it takes 28 to 30 seconds for Internet Explorer
to load onto my computer, which is a Dell 4100 733 mhz. It has never taken
that long. I did load some software in the past week, namely Norton
Antivirus and also some CD Slideshow. I do have Norton Antivirus & Spy
Sweeper on the machine and I make sure it is updated on a regular basis.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem.
Thanks!

Did you update Java to build 6? That will cause it.

Bob,
Thanks so much for that vital info. I did uninstall the latest update of
JAVA and that looks like the culprit. I realize that I need JAVA for a
crucial program, but what update should I look for and what's the best way to
get it? Thanks in advance for your great advice.

Also, if you didn't remove build 5, check your add /remove, you still
have it on your system.
