Slow network, but fast computers

Hi,

I got one windows 2000 server....with all XP clients.
The computers are fast and the server as well.

But my network is horrible slow.....copying 300 mb takes up 2 hours.

What is the speed of you network cards? Speed of your HUB or switch? Are
you hard wired or wireless? Could you please repost.

What type of network (bandwidth wise)? Are you using switches or hubs? -
switches are faster? Also, it could be a bad NIC in one of the machines
bringing the whole LAN to a halt.

Try disabling smb signing on the W2K server in Local Security Policy -
security options. Disable the four "digitally sign client/server communications"

Put the DNS of the server in. That solved our xp problems.
