I am running windows 2000 server with windows xp pro
computers. When logging into the server it will take a
long time. I set the dns of the xp computers to the ip
address of the server and the computers log on and off
very quickly, however i can not browse the internet. I
have left the configuration as the dns of the ISP and no
secondary dns. Hence why the computers are so slow. any
ideas on how i can setup the xp pro computers so i can log
on quick and browse the internet.

ALso note i have setup windows 2000 professional with no
prblems only windows XP i am experiencing this problem.

yes, if you use isp dns, xp logon will be slower. xp and w2k are different.
so re-do your 2000 server dns settings. or post back with more information
about your dns.

Set your clients to point to the Windows 2000 server, and configure your
Windows 2000 server to be a DNS forwarder. For instructions on how to do
that, see the "How to Configure Forwarders" heading in the following
