SLow logogg roaming profile users

E

Eppie

Hi,

With every roaming profile user in my organisation it takes over 2 minutes
to logoff.

I have checked the size of the profile and with most users it isn't greater
then 20MB.

We run on a 100Mb managed switched network and the client computers are XP
SP1.

I have made a DWORD-value UserEnvDebugLevel with a value of 0x00030002

The eventlog doesn't show any errors. In the userenv.log it seems the
computer just waits two and a half minutes in the logoff process.

USERENV(280.284) 16:51:14:225 MyRegUnLoadKey: Returning 1.
USERENV(280.284) 16:51:14:235 UnloadUserProfileP: Succesfully unloaded
profile
USERENV(280.284) 16:51:14:265 MyRegUnLoadKey: Returning 1.
USERENV(280.284) 16:51:14:275 UnLoadClassHive: Successfully unmounted
S-1-5-21-682003330-789336058-854245398-4119_Classes
USERENV(280.284) 16:51:14:285 UnloadUserProfileP: Successfully unloaded
user classes
USERENV(280.284) 16:53:54:592 UnloadUserProfileP: Reverting to Self
USERENV(280.284) 16:53:54:602 UnloadUserProfile: Got the System Time
USERENV(280.284) 16:53:54:612 UnloadUserProfileP: Setting the unload Time
USERENV(280.284) 16:53:54:622 UnloadUserProfileP: exitting and cleaning up

Does anyone has an idea of what could be the problem?

try

goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs > Change/Remove Programs
and see if Q329170 is listed as an update if it is remove it.

plus

start > run > gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration> Administrative
Template
System > Logon > Maximum retries to unload and update user
profile ... set
enabled and to say 5 ... default if not configured is 60!!

There appears to be a hotfix available from MS (thanks Neo)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;814770

but you will have to telephone MS to order it.

Hi Steve,

I've done what you've suggested, but unfortunatly that didn't do the trick.

The hotfix you mentioned from Microsoft is for WIndows 2000Pro and was
included in SP4 for W2K.

My clients all have XP Pro as OS.
