Slow Login to 2003 Server

I recently installed a Windows 2003 Server -Small Business Edition. I have a Windows XP client machine that literally takes up to 10 minutes to log in. Once connected the machine is slow in accessing network drives and also takes about the same amount of time to log out. I have formatted and re-installed XP, but the problem still exists. When the machine is not joined to the domain and is not required to log into the server it works fine and the login is fast. I also have a Windows 2000 and a Windows 98 client on the same network and they can connect to the server without any delays. I have installed all service packs and known hotfixes available at windowsupdate.com and have also installed the SMB hotfix. What should I check next?

Is the client configured to use the DNS server that contains the AD records
for the domain or is it using a ISP DNS server? Pointing to an ISP DNS
server witll cuase very long login times.

The Server is set up for DHCP/DNS and is currently not connected to the Internet at all. The workstation gets DHCP/DNS from the server for LAN connectivity, but does have a DUN connectoid to an ISP with manually specified DNS information for the ISP.
