slow, jerky transitions in ppt slide show

I've created an animated slide show with automatic slide transistions that I
would like to use as or on a website for my small business. However, I've run
into a problem with the HTML version (Save As Webpage). Each slide has a 20
to 23 seconde .wav sound clip (music). Just for info: my computer is 2.66ghz
with a Pentium D processor and 1gb ram and I have high speed internet
connection so have plenty of power, memory and speed. I'm using Office
(PowerPoint)XP.

What happens is this: when the slide show begins the animations are slow and
jerky and the sound clips start and stop and then start again. Some of the
slides cut off early and jerk to the next slide. I have one that the
animations don't work at all and the music doesn't play and it requires a
manual click of the mouse or spacebar to move to the next slide.

I've inquired on several different forums and discussion groups and the only
suggestion I've gotten is to scandisk and defrag my HD, which I did and it
didn't help. I've also saved it as .pps, which works, fine but not everyone
has PowerPoint on their computer which is required to view the .pps version.

HELP!!! I'd like to have my website up and running before the 1st of March
when my business season begins. I'm trying to use Geocities (Yahoo) for the
website and don't even know yet if I can get the slide show on there so if
anyone knows about that I'm open to suggestions on that point also.

If its an auto transition presentation I would consider converting to flash
with eg Camtasia.

I would strongly recommend that you use a proper provider for your site -
you will look much more "pro". We use 1and1 who are really helpful to
beginners and very reliable. There's a link on the links page of our site

Hi,

My experience with html for animations on the web is it is a sad experience.
I think that is why Flash is so popular for web. Defragging will not help as
it is not really a memory thing, but bandwidth. Can you provide a link to
the viewer? Else, I think html in this format is not going to cut it. Else,
I would have used it myself years ago for this very thing.

If your Web site can host executable files, you can convert your PPT
2002/2003 to an executable file. You may want to zip the executable before
you upload it - so more people have the option of opening/downloading.
