Slow Image Downloads

I am trying to figure out what is wrong with 4 different computers all of
them have the same problem with image downloads they are taking anywhere from
20 to 50 seconds to download images. All are running XP service pack 2. 2
are connected in the same house (networked) another in the same city
(Louisiana) (not networked) and another is in Florida. All high speed (LA. is
on cox)( FL. unknown but I know it is DSL). My computer downloads in about a
half a second is there any way I can get their downloads faster?

How big are the images you're trying to download and can you find out
how fast your connection is?
