Slow Down

Windows XP Professional.256 MB, 1.4 Ghz. This machine
runs fine right after startup. After a short while it
will start to slow down and then speed back up. Typing a
letter in Outlook it will slow down and the typing will
not keep up with the keystrokes and then it will get back
to speed. Eventually it will slow down and stop requiring
you to shut down at the tower. Virus scan comes up clean.
Spysweeper has removed all spyware. No new programs have
been installed. Event viewer reveals nothing.
