Slow computer

Long time ago I posted a question that My computer was slow and I wanted to
reinstall windows but computer couldn't be booted from CD, then I tried to
format Hard Drive wich was also unsuccessful. I got answers that I should run
antivirus and antispware (Malwarebytes and one more) instead of trying to
reinstall windows. These programs didn't find any infection. So what now? Is
there no way I can reinstall windows. thanks for all the help

there are many reasons that can
attribute to a slow computer.

if the hardware is ineffecient then
windows will be too.

you need to have at least 512 megs
of ram and

have at least 20 percent of the disk
free of data.

Have you also determined that the Hard drive is set to and running in
DMA mode rather than PIO? That is found in the Device Manager, IDE
Controller, Primary Channel properties, Advanced settings. If it is set
to DMA but running in PIO then the PC will be slow also. If this is the
case Uninstall the Channel and then Scan for new hardware to reset it.

First things first.

Why can't your computer boot from a CD? -- I'd get that fixed first.

Re-installing Windows is like trying to stop your car by running into a
tree; it is a last resort.

Slow computer can be a cause of different things.
You can increase you RAM up to 4 GB.

If this still doesn't work, reinstalling will be your only choice.

Not the ONLY choice; it is the LAST choice.

Finding out what is causing the problem and fixing it is much higher on the
list than a re-install.
