slow computer

seems to access web but only from some sites. others say page can not be
found and computer was runing fine yesterday..have scanned for virus and
nothing come up.. anysuggestions would be a big help

There's always the possibility that the problem is not with your computer,
but with your ISP or a system they connect through. If that's the case,
the problem will suddenly appear, then clear up. Nothing you can do with
your system will affect this.

Hi!!

If your system is slow, I would suggest you to follo these steps:

Step 1 :



1. Click Start

2. Click Run

3. Type msconfig

4. Click the Startup Tab

5. Click Disable All

6. Click Apply

7. Click OK

8. Restart PC

9. Upon restarting, put a checkmark in the checkbox " Do not show this
message again"



Step 2 :



1. Close all running applications on your PC

2. Click Start

3. Click Run

4. Click %temp%

5. Select All the files and folders

6. Delete them



Step 3:



1. Close all running applications on your PC

2. Click Start

3. Click Run

4. Type sfc /scannow



It might prompt for the Operating System CD



Restart the PC


Step 4:


1. Right Click My Computer Icon

2. Click Advanced Tab

3. Click Setting Under Performance

4. Click Advanced Tab
5. Click Change Under Virtual Memory
6. Select System Managed Size
7. Click Set
8. Click OK

It will display that you need to Restart the PC

9. Click Apply
10. Click OK
11. Click OK
12. Restart the PC

Step 5:

1. Download stinger.exe from the given link : http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

2. Unzip the content to a folder

3. Boot the PC to the Safe Mode

4. Double Click the stinger.exe

5. Restart PC



Step 6:

1. Download the Adware Program from: http://www.lavasoft.de/ms/index.htm

2. Click Download now

3. After Downloading the Software , install it.

3. Boot the PC to the Safe Mode

4. Scan your PC with the Adware Software

5. Restart PC


You will find some change in the system's performance. Any issues, Please
