My computer is preforming very slowly. In my events viewer their is an
error
listed "Event ID 7". The message reads "The
device;\Device\HarddiscO\D, has a bad block".
Does anyone know what this means???
1. With the computer turned off and unplugged, reseat the cable going
from the drive to the motherboard. Test.
2. If that doesn't work, swap the cable out for a known-working one.
Test.
3. If that doesn't work, run a thorough diagnostic on the hard drive
with the drive mftr.'s utility. Download the utility from the drive
mftr.'s website and create a bootable CD/floppy from it. Boot with the
media you made. If the drive fails any physical tests, replace it.
4. If the drive tests out OK, your motherboard may be failing.
