I recently upgraded from Windows 98 SE to Windows 2000.
After the upgrade my system clock started to lose about 10
minutes per hour. Any ideas?

If you are running the same computer that you had when Windows 98 came out,
your computer's pretty old. There's a decent chance that the battery on
your BIOS needs to be replaced. That is my guess. I think they average
about 5 years.

There are time servers that you can use. I don't know how to do it off the
top of my head or anything, but like, instead of patching the problem by
doing this, why not fix it?

Ray,

It amazes me that people will spend all kinds of
money to buy water cooled, glow in the dark,
overclocked, etc. hardware, but won't spend a buck
or two for a battery.

The BIOS battery should only affect time keeping during the time the PC
is off. I would suspect some other malady is the cause. Most likely some
little i6 bit program running in the background in the command
interpreter. Take a look in Taskmanager for a NTVDM.EXE running.
