Slow Audio Playback

N

Nick

I have a Toshiba Tecra S1 with XP Pro. The laptop is
playing all audio too slowly. This includes MP3s on the
hard drive, CDs, DVDs & streaming, and it happens on
whatever media player I use. Strangely enough, it only
happens about 80% of the time, and occasionaly works OK.
Toshiba don't have a clue, and I have updated the sound
card drivers and de/reinstalled the media players, but it
still has the problem. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Nick.

Hi Nick,

You'll need to describe your problem in a little bit more detail.

By slow audio, do you mean that it is playing at a slower speed so a normal
voice sounds like it's coming from a troll or do you mean that it is playing
with pauses and blanks like someone were clicking the pause button all the
time?

Thanks.

Fred,

Thanks for your reply. The audio is playing as if it were a
tape player that was low on batteries, so al voices sound
much lower than they really are, or as you say, like a troll!

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi Nick,

If you have Windows Media Player 9, then it sounds like you've accidentally
toggled the Play Speed to Slow.

You can change this back to Normal in WMP9 by choosing Normal on Play->Play
Speed.

Hope this helps,
