Slipstreaming SP1

Hey, that's very good news, indeed! Thanks so much for the information!
And being a full Vista install DVD, it presumably would take a key for
any version of Vista, would it not? Do you happen to recall about what
the S&H charges are (continental US)?
Daze,
I just checked it's $7.00 USD

Thanks. For me, at least, that will definitely be worth the investment,
then, when Vista with SP1 becomes available.

Good question. I have Ultimate, too, and I would think that the thing to
do would be to claim to want to upgrade from Business (or Premium, or
Basic, even) to Ultimate, which I wouldn't really think of as a "lie,"
given the circumstances.

Brian,
PS,
It won't work I just tried to upgrade from ultimate to Ultimate but it
said there is no upgrade.
Will this work this way when SP1 comes out?
OR should I lire and just say I want to upgrade from Business to Ultimate?

Yeah it doesn't matter what version you 'upgrade' from as you're not buying
a licence.

Thanks again Brian. I will hold on to this link till SP1 comes out.
I just hope MS doesn't change this EXCELLENT procedure!

Hi,
MS changed this page below today and now you can't just buy the media. You have to buy the new license with it.
Is there a new link to just get the media without the license like the one below?
I searched MS and couldn't find a thing.

Frankly, I'm surprised the offered the media only at all. It looks like
this is no longer an option.

Thanks,
They did up until yesterday. I will try to call MS and will let you know when I hear anything but will probably be a
while since it's not out get to the public.

Richard,
Well, I called MS and they won't help me. I can only get the SP1 when it comes out March 19 (I think). :)

That's rather annoying, I was hoping for an SP1 integrated DVD! :-(
There is a way of ordering replacement System Builder media (effectively the
same discs as Retail), I'll have to look it up again. It cost more than just
shipping costs though (about 24Euro I think)

I've done some digging, the Vista DVD install files are being hosted by
Digital River (for people who purchase the online download version of Vista
through Windows Marketplace), there's a link to download them if you Google
for it. You can create a bootable DVD from the files. The install.wim file
is the 6000.16386 build but presumably this will be changed to the SP1
version on or around 19th March.
So we may not get an Anytime Upgrade DVD with SP1, but making our own is the
next best thing!

Brian,
Sorry I have been in the hospital for a few weeks with COPD. but if possible give me all the details if you find out how
to do this. I would really appreciate =that.
Thanks
RScotti

Can't find that link? Do you have it Brian?
I am probably looking or searching wrong. Not too good at that:(
