slipstreamed won't accept license

I have a group license for windows xp professional. I did a slipstream to
create an updated cd with sp2 (great advise from Ron Martell). Everything
went just as Ron said accept when I try to use the cd it boots but will not
accept my license.

Does anyone know what I did wrong?

I have a similar problem (not quite exact). The difference is I have single
license keys (from the old XP Home and from the new XP PRO) and setup asks me
for a Volume License Key, which of course, I don't have, when setting up the
slipstreamed XP-PRO. I published my problem in "Upgrading XP Home to XP Pro".

Hello Jeannine,
What is in the setupp.ini file located in your i386 directory?
I suspect the CD wasn't volume to start with, that will tell us whether it
was or not.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Hello John,
What is in the setupp.ini file in the i386 folder? I suspect that you used

Hello Jeannine,
That is Volume and it is Windows Professional.
The other thing to check is whether the product key works with the media
prior to slipstreaming as a test.
Make sure the info in the cd is the same in the setupp.ini file for the
Pid=55274270

Darrell,
Yes, the product key works with the CD prior to slipstreaming. It's the
adequate key.
Yes, the info in the CD setupp.ini is exactly the same as the info after the
slipstreaming, for the Pid=55274270

The problem is the original CD doesn't have SP2 and my XP Home SP2 doesn't
accept the original XP PRO CD as setup reports it's a previous version I want
to install over it.

John

Hello John,
I am crossing threads here with the first one.
You state you do not have volume licensing key in your first posting, but
the media information from your cd is that the media is volume license
media. The media you have does require a Volume License product key you
state you do not have volume license key however you state it works with
that media. Something is not correct with one of those statements or that
media has issues.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Maybe I was mistankenly provided a incorrect CD and that made some conceptual
confusion. I'm gonna review that. Thank you for your help. John.

My problem seems to have been mixed up with Joao's problem. I posed the
original question about using a group license xp prof disc to create the same
but with sp2; using the slipstream process.

The setupp.ini file says "[Pid]
ExtraData=786F687170637175716954806365EF
Pid=55274270". I am not sure what you mean by VL media. I used memorex
cd-rw.

Hello Jeannine,
By VL media we mean Volume License Media.
By the information in the setupp.ini file you have Windows XP Professional,
English and it is volume license media.
In that case I suspect the Product key may not be a Volume License product
key
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]
