Slipstream XP Gold and SP1 or SP2 first.
Then slipstream SP3 with XP SP2 slipstreamed cd.

The majority of the word I've heard say that you can't do it with XPMassimo said:The service packs are cumulative, it has never been needed to apply (or

Gold. Gold has to have at least one SP1a or better applied.
BUT if you read this 'steps to take before you install SP3' article from
MS, it says nothing about any service pack prerequisites. Ironically
we've seen reports that AV software and RDP software issues cause
problems and this article does address those two issues.

So maybe that Gold thing is just hearsay.
Correct!
It generally has been correct. However it's *not* correct in this
instance. Read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389, which says
"Note You must have either Windows XP Service Pack 1a or Windows
XP Service Pack 2 installed in order to install Windows XP Service
Pack 3."
Slipstreaming does a little more than just copy files. It does run the
update executible.
