To all I ask: How do I save a picture that is in a PowerPoint slideshow a
friend sent....I have been searching the net but I have not found one or
really anything that says Vista on it.....I do not really have PowerPoint
software per say but I do have the Microsoft PowerPoint viewer.....Running
Vista business

Hey Rick !!....Thanks for the quick response...The problem is the slideshow
came in a e-mail...My friend has a viewer as well...He got it from a friend
who got it from a friend and so on....Is there another way because I am sure
PowerPoint is not cheap !!

A quick and easy way is to simply use the Snipping tool and/or
Fastone to grab it from your screen. Get the image on your screen
and you can save it.

You are correct PowerPoint is not cheap. It is a part of MS Office. You
can, however, do what you want with it in OpenOffice.org's Impress - a pp
clone. It will import and export MS Office files. IMHO OO IMpress is much
easier to use than PowerPoint. A year of two ago I compiled the
information for our church directory in OO IMpress, exported to pp format
and submitted to Olan Mills - they processed it without incident.

I agree. This just needs a simple screengrab, followed by a bit of cropping
in an image editor.

With a high quality image, some detail would be lost. With this file (sent
to me last night), it's definitely the case. A fairly popular powerpoint
file I've seen before involving high quality nature images.

A question that you may be able to help with is : I just found a old copy of
PowerPoint 2003.....Do you or anybody know whether it is compatible with
Vista ..
