Slide transitions built in PP2000 don't work in PP2003.

Does anyone know why? My son created a presentation for school in
Power Point 2000, and when we open it in PowerPoint 2003 none of the
slide transitions work.

If you used new features of 2003 that 2000 doesn't have, they won't work.
In 2003, you can click "Tools", "Options" and find and click the checkbox to
"Disable new animation effects". This will prevent this problem, but also
prevents using the new effects (which are pretty cool).

SORRY!

I am actually having trouble going the other direction. The original
presentation was built in PP 2000 and works there just fine. We burned
it to a CD and tried to run in in PP 2003, and the sound runs, the
first slide presents, and never moves on to the next. Any clue on why
that would be?

The original was built in Windows XP and PP 2000 (where it functions
fine). We are trying to execute it on Windows 2000 Professional and PP
2003.

Hi,

This is something I can't explain. Could you send it via email for me to see
if it does it here? Although please keep it under 5 meg ;-)

Apparently he had the transitions tied to an animation, and when he
removed it from the animation it now works in 2003, although the timing
is off. The file is quite large. I'll have to see if he can create a
shorter version of it so I can send it to you. Thanks for the offer of
help.
