Slide Transition Problems

Jeremy

This is Jeremy. I am using Windows XP Home Edition SP2, Vers 2002;
Microsoft Office 2002 (Microsoft Office XP).

I have a problem on increasing the timing of automatic slide advance.
(I click 'Slide Sorter' in 'View', then right click a slide then click
'Slide Transition'. On the Task Pane, under 'Advance Slide', I check
'Automatically after' ...)

Problem in detail:
The main problem is that I cannot increase the timing of automatic
slide advance, the limit is only until 1 second (00:01). Although it is
only until 1 second, When I click 'Apply to All Slides', the time shown
under the slide is '00:00'.

How can I repair this? Please do not tell me to fix timings in
'Rehearsal', actually, I am able to do it, but it is very troublesome.
I have tried 'Detect & Repair', but to no avail. I have cleared all
viruses, spywares, adwares etc (but I found some spywares and adwares
only, I have cleared them), but still a failure. I restarted my
computer and tried the next day, but it is still the same.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jeremy,

I am uncertain why the 'apply to all' function is not working - very
unusual. Just to verify, you select the slide, open the Slide Transitions
action pane, check Automatically After, increase the timing to 00:01, then
click Apply to all?

If that is not working, try this. Go to slide sorter view. Select all of the
slides. Open the Slide Transitions action pane. Check Automatically After.
Increase the timing to 00:01. Done - all (selected) slides should have an
automatic slide transition assigned.

If that is not working, go to SLIDE SHOW >> SETUP SHOW and let us know what
is selected in the Show Type section.

Jeremy,
That is odd. Have you tried typing in the timing yourself, actually you can
put in a timing less than a second just type .5 (or 00:00.5) for half a
second as an example. You said you tried detect and repair already, have you
looked if there are no items that have been disconnected. Go to Help -
info - way at the bottom there is a button for disconnected items (not sure
about the wording here). If there is something in there try to put it back
on.

Thanks for your help! However, it is not working.

I went to 'Slide Show' and clicked 'Set Up Show', the 'Show Type is
selected as 'Presented by a speaker (full screen)'.

Thanks for your help! However, it is still not working.

I have tried the ways that you have told me. The solution regarding on
going to 'Help', I am not so sure at first. But I realised that you
meant 'Disabled Items...' that is provided in 'About Microsoft
PowerPoint'. Thanks for this, however, I do not have anything disabled.

Jeremy, are you using the "rehearse timings" feature to apply the
transitions in the first place? I know you said you're doing this --
(I click 'Slide Sorter' in 'View', then right click a slide then click
'Slide Transition'. On the Task Pane, under 'Advance Slide', I check
'Automatically after' ...)

-- but I thought I'd ask about the "rehearsal" thing you mentioned. As you
can see at http://tinyurl.com/cowj5, using narration and "rehearse timings"
together can be problematic. If you're not doing that, no problem.
