Slide titles shift when opening 2003 ppt in 2007

When we open a 2003 ppt in 2007 some of the slide headings shift to the left
and up, outside of the actual textbox. They also lose their shadows.

This happens regardless if the presentation is resaved as a pptx or pptm.

We have also tried changing the slide layout, but for some reason it just
seems to not recognize the headings.

It does not happen in every presentation, nor to every slide.

Lucy, thanks for your help. Sorry, I should have mentioned that we've already
tried the printer driver fix.

However, as I've continued to play with this, I've found that if I select
all the slides in slide sorter view, click on "Layout" on the Home tab,
select a title-and-content layout and then click "Reset," it fixes most of
the slides.

The only issues after I do this are 1) if someone inserted a textbox or
object for a title instead of actually using the "Click to add title" box, it
won't change the layout; and 2) some text boxes had been resized, so when the
layout is reapplied the text doesn't wrap like it did in the original.

I also lost textboxes when I reopened the file if I had not resaved it as a
pptx (kept it a ppt).

Let me know, Lucy, if you have fixes for my two unresolved issues.

Hi

Well, the VBAers may be able to help you, but what I do when people have
added their own 'titles' instead of using the placeholder (why do they do
that? Drives me crazy...) is copy the text from the textbox to the title
placeholder then delete the textbox - saves time in the long run as they
will reflect future updates to the design. As for textboxes reformatting, I
would probably use the format painter or the pick up/apply style buttons.
Unfortunately, putting slides together especially from multiple users always
seems to involve some manual tweaking.
