Slide out navigation bar

My navigation bar is going to be rather long because of
the nature of our business. Therefore, I would like to
place the main categories in the navigation bar and when
a mouse is moved over an item have a slide out menu that
allows them to choose where they want to go within that
category. How do I accomplish this? Thanks for any
help.
