slide duration

I set the slide duration to 3 seconds, half of my slides are on 3 seconds and
half of them are set a 5 seconds. I reset defaults, but they are not the
same. How do I get the same slide duration for my whole slide show?

You need to set the 'duration' before you bring the pics to the timeline.
Go to 'tools' then 'options' and click on 'advanced'. There you can pick
the duration and the transition length of time. If you did that and got
varied time length, I don't know how that happened. Once you have your pics
in the timeline, you can also click on each one and either lengthen or
shorten them by grabbing on the 'end arrow'. If you hover over each clip it
will show you the length of that clip to the hundredth of a second.
