slave hard drive access

Had the old hard drive from my 1995 IBM Aptiva (540 MG/Windows 3.1) installed
as a slave (drive F) on my new E-Machines computer. I also have a CD of the
original software from the IBM. But I can't open any of the files or start
any of the programs (PFS Winworks and Quicken) on the old drive. What do I
need to do? I need to access all my spreadsheets, word proc. documents, and
my checkbook.
Thanks much...

To run the applications/programs, you'll need to install them into the
current OS, using the original installation media (assuming that they're
WinXP-compatible - if not, you'll need to purchase newer versions); they
can't be run as is. The data files, however can be copied from the old
hard drive to your new computer drive.
