Hi all,
I had to replace the motherboard on my pc and when i rebooted windows xp pro
would not load just kept rebooting, when i did a diagnostic start and
watched services it just stopped on loading the MUP service or driver, so i
have installed new drive and used old as slave the problem is it shows in my
computer and also in disk management but when i try to access it says the
drive is not formatted would i like to format it. However i know the drive
is ok and it has my data on it.

Thanks for any help with this.

When you replace a motherboard, you need to do - at the very least - a
Repair Install. Sometimes the Repair Install won't work and then you
need to do a Clean Install. If you haven't already backed up your data
on that drive, I'd get it by using Knoppix or a Bart's PE. Then if you
still want to use that drive for XP, put it in as you want and try the
Repair Install first.
