Size of Excel Spreadsheet

Hello,
I have a small Excel spreadsheet that I created by taking an old fil
and deleting what I don't need. Now it consists of ONE sheet, n
macros, no graphs, nothing but a few cells with simple formulas. But
the size of the file is more than 14 Mo !!!
Any idea why this can be the case ?
